Take Responsibility.
The time allotted for investigation this week is a bit longer than normal - not due to anything done wrong on the part of the Apprentices, but perhaps due to a basic understanding that two corpses are going to be decidedly more difficult to handle than one. However, at the end of the time period you've been given, the elevator is waiting for you, as cold and sterile as always in its journey up to the courtroom; you're down to almost half of your original number, and if anything is going to indicate that this shows no signs of stopping, it's probably this week. The deceased have had three more join their numbers since you were here last - Gold, Varric, and Viktor's portraits have been greyed-out and set atop their spots in the podium circle, the podiums themselves draped in black fabric. As always, the lectern above stands empty. Whether he's with you or not, however, once everyone has found their place in the circle, the Wordsmith's voice can be heard throughout the room. "Welcome back. Two more Apprentices are missing from your number today, and I have little doubt that weighs heavily on your minds. Balanced and Capricious have been lost to you, so that the guilty may have a chance to leave the academy and possibly even gain something otherwise impossible to attain. If you wish for your fallen Apprentices to receive justice in death, then you know what to do: yet again, hold the guilty accountable." Sixteen Apprentices remain. However many leave here at the end of the day has yet to be seen. |

Okay. I'm not good at writing [ See all his recipes], but I'll try to write one good enough for you.
[ He should really go now, he knows what's coming, but he's going to hug him tight one last time. Surprisingly it hurts more to think about leaving him, than to think about dying. Maybe it's because he's already almost died once already, and because he knows he should pay for what he did. There's still the matter of Void and the Netherworlds but...they seem less poignant in this moment.]
Thank you, for everything Mikazuki. Thank you for helping me find my heart again.

Whatever you're able to write will be fine. It doesn't have to be extravagant or anything.
[ When he hears the man start to thank him...his mind starts an immediate downward spiral. He's happy, that he was able to help Killia in some way, of course, but he's not happy that the words Killia is giving him means that it is a sign that he's about to leave. In that quiet moment, Mikazuki almost loses all hope right then and there. He thinks that none of them are going to make it out of here, that none of what they'll ever do will matter, and what is the point if Killia isn't here with him?
His fingers grip tighter, in the embrace, and shuts out all the nonsensical thoughts. Even if the goodbye is going to be messy, he doesn't want it to be one tainted by dark thoughts. Not to mention, he still has his duty. His eyes water. ]
Thank you, for letting me experience what "love" is. I'll never forget the time we spent together, and I'll always cherish every moment we did. I...I'll miss you, Killia.

I don't want to tell you that we'll be able to make it back somehow but...if there is a way, I'll find it. I don't know how any of this works [ Love, souls, this crazy place] but that's never mattered to me before. I'll try my hardest, I promise.
[ He had tried so hard and it wasn't enough but, maybe there was the smallest chance he'd get one more shot at it. Funny, how he had found another reason to live when....well all he could do is try. That's the thought he had to hold onto right now.]

[ Mikazuki doesn't know why, but hearing Killia say this helps. Maybe now, he can believe that because he's said that, it won't be as bad. Or at least he can hope.
But, he doesn't want to be useless, or do nothing. Or at least not give up. Not now, even if he knows that as soon as the other man has left this space to die, he may find it hard to walk once more. ]
I'll believe in you too. If it's someone who can find a way... it's you.

Good. [ He feels like there's more he should say if they had the time, but they don't and he still doesn't know his way around his words or feelings well. If they're able to reunite, he'll have a lot of time to think about what he wants to say.
So instead for once, he's just going to kiss Mikazuki first. He had already asked for a kiss and it's selfish to take another one, but it's the best expression of how he feels right now. It's his way of showing the other man how much he's helped him too.]
I'm not going to say goodbye. [ But he's not the type to say "see you again", because he still cant be that optimistic.] Just wish me luck, okay?

I wish you luck, then... and if you're not saying good-bye, then I won't say it either. I've already seen that history dictates you will be successful. This is the history that must come to pass.
[ Mikazuki decides to lean forward, knowing he probably sounded quite... cheesy here, however, he had no regrets saying that, and it seems like he's going to return that kiss, but instead, he winds up rubbing his nose against his with something that is a smile. ]
Wish me luck too?

Good luck, Mikazuki. I don't know if I can still believe in myself, but I'll believe in you, in...us. [ He doesn't want to leave, but he has to. And he has to vote for himself too, because he wouldn't want it any other way. He deserved this, it's not like he had forgotten what he did (even if it was his other self) last night, but he stupidly thought maybe there was some way he could fix it if no one found out. Killia was always racked with indecision and hesitation, which is what lead to this situation in the first place. If he was able to make it back somehow, he promised himself he wouldn't be like that anymore.
They had started their relationship this way, and he wouldn't want his last act to be anything else. So while he steps back he keeps holding the other man's hands until the last moment when he finally lets go, to vote for himself.]
