Take Responsibility.
The time allotted for investigation this week is a bit longer than normal - not due to anything done wrong on the part of the Apprentices, but perhaps due to a basic understanding that two corpses are going to be decidedly more difficult to handle than one. However, at the end of the time period you've been given, the elevator is waiting for you, as cold and sterile as always in its journey up to the courtroom; you're down to almost half of your original number, and if anything is going to indicate that this shows no signs of stopping, it's probably this week. The deceased have had three more join their numbers since you were here last - Gold, Varric, and Viktor's portraits have been greyed-out and set atop their spots in the podium circle, the podiums themselves draped in black fabric. As always, the lectern above stands empty. Whether he's with you or not, however, once everyone has found their place in the circle, the Wordsmith's voice can be heard throughout the room. "Welcome back. Two more Apprentices are missing from your number today, and I have little doubt that weighs heavily on your minds. Balanced and Capricious have been lost to you, so that the guilty may have a chance to leave the academy and possibly even gain something otherwise impossible to attain. If you wish for your fallen Apprentices to receive justice in death, then you know what to do: yet again, hold the guilty accountable." Sixteen Apprentices remain. However many leave here at the end of the day has yet to be seen. |

[ so, so wrong. ]
Hanyuu is a demon and she's nothing like you--people I know from back home have those sorts of qualities, and yet--and yet, they choose not to.

What you are has nothing to do with anything. You killed Viktor-san and Varric-san, and used Killia-kun as a scapegoat because you yourself are a coward!

You shut your mouth! Your other self told me not to judge people based on my standards, but I'm going to tell you something! The devils and demons here have been considerate and kind! Someone who kills people because it's fun is nothing like them!

[ that gets her to snap out of it, a little. ]
Hanyuu has been nothing but kind to us all! She would never do a terrible thing like this! Don't go blaming your being a demon for your cruelty!

If we hadn't followed that we would have died a long time ago.

To bad you're going to die now, huh?

[ And that's all she needs to say, her eyes predatory as she leaps back to her spot. And she heads back towards her own podium in preparation for the voting. She's so done with this clown. ]

You can't escape it. [She smiles.] The shadow will get you...how fitting. You fought against Void, and yet...that will be your fate.

[That earns a derisive snort.]
It seems you and I come from similar worlds. But what I've learned here, what I'm sure Killia has learned here, is that some rules deserve to be broken!

[ So that law is fine by him.]

She's not the weak one here--Hanyuu's endured so much, and she's come away stronger for it! Calling her weak is a grave mistake!

You've certainly been beat, Tyrant Overlord Killidia.
