Take Responsibility.
The time allotted for investigation this week is a bit longer than normal - not due to anything done wrong on the part of the Apprentices, but perhaps due to a basic understanding that two corpses are going to be decidedly more difficult to handle than one. However, at the end of the time period you've been given, the elevator is waiting for you, as cold and sterile as always in its journey up to the courtroom; you're down to almost half of your original number, and if anything is going to indicate that this shows no signs of stopping, it's probably this week. The deceased have had three more join their numbers since you were here last - Gold, Varric, and Viktor's portraits have been greyed-out and set atop their spots in the podium circle, the podiums themselves draped in black fabric. As always, the lectern above stands empty. Whether he's with you or not, however, once everyone has found their place in the circle, the Wordsmith's voice can be heard throughout the room. "Welcome back. Two more Apprentices are missing from your number today, and I have little doubt that weighs heavily on your minds. Balanced and Capricious have been lost to you, so that the guilty may have a chance to leave the academy and possibly even gain something otherwise impossible to attain. If you wish for your fallen Apprentices to receive justice in death, then you know what to do: yet again, hold the guilty accountable." Sixteen Apprentices remain. However many leave here at the end of the day has yet to be seen. |

What do you think?

[She can't breathe right now... she's being told that she made one of her close friends feel... awful...
...no...]
I... I don't want to believe it's yours because... because Killia wouldn't do anything like this, but...
[She'll try to approach him.
SOMEONE STOP HER FOR HER OWN SAKE.]

I'm sorry, but I do not think that's a very good idea.

...this wasn't supposed to happen.]

You did your best for him. And he cared, even if this [gestures] thing claims he doesn't. Take comfort in that.

I mean, I'm gonna hazard a guess here that it's Edgy McShitlord that he was guilty about, so it's his asshole alter ego's fault, not yours.

[Sorry, she's... in a bad mode right now.]
I truly am a poison...

I didn't mean to...
[She sharply inhales.]
...I didn't mean to!
[Make him feel guilty, give him those memories, etc. That's what she means.]

It's okay. Ones like us...we treasure those...who remind us of the light.

[ His eyes close-- somehow he's able to remain calm... but he doesn't know for how long. ]
It's not your fault. You're not... ah, a poison.
... I'm so happy, to have met the both of you. Both of you are precious to me. Just by existing, you've done many well, so please I ask you to believe those words.
no subject
I'll... I'll try to believe in them.

You are not the center of the universe. Not everything is about you. From the way Enoby Dark'ness Dementia Honchkrow Stone is talking, it sounds like this kinda thing would've happened if some other pink-haired girl got hijacked from your world and didn't end up his friend.

I... I understand. I... apologize for thinking this may have been my fault.

[ Yeah, staying back is probably a good thing.]

[She's no longer on her feet, instead collapsed to her knees and starting to really cry now.]
...why... couldn't you wait, Killia? We... we could have... we could have gotten out...

[It might be fruitless, but she'll try to request this.]
