Third.

This week has been difficult; between the death of Milla Maxwell and the fact that this motive seems to have hit several people far harder than the last, there's been an unmistakable tension in the air for the past several days.

The week is coming to a close; it's been seven days since the last murder. If no one's moved as of this morning, time is becoming incredibly short before everyone's secrets are revealed.

Either way, the morning dawns undeterred on Friday; the chimes ring out, signaling the hour, and the first and second floors seem clear. For some of you, that may be enough to ensure that you start your day normally; some of you, however, may wish to be a bit more thorough and check the third floor down, just to make sure everything really is all right.

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. You won't know until you look.

[It looks like someone was playing a card game, since some cards are left out. They have pictures of drinks on the other side.

Depending on how much Jasper knows about card games, she might be able to tell what game it is! But in the event she doesn't, that's why Nick is here. The game laid out on the table is solitaire. It doesn't look like the game was finished.]

It's called Solitaire, darlin'. And it's not a "pattern", it's a game. It's something you usually play by yourself but it looks like our friend here didn't get to finish it all the way.

[It wasn't necessarily unexpected, considering the week they'd been having. But after the relatively peaceful start, he'd had his hopes up.]

[With everyone occupying the billiards room, he figures he'll only be in the way. But hey, Jasper's in the bar and at this point, fuck drinking rules. He'll make a bee-line straight for the collection of booze.]
