WEEK 3.
As the second week draws to a close, two more have joined the deceased. Christo and Alani are dead, leaving twenty-six of you remaining. It may not seem like very many have died, but their absence will certainly be felt. Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Just like last week, a door in the stairwell has opened, leading you down further into the building; there are more rooms open to you down there - possibly even one that you'll find personally interesting. Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 25 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

Quindecim. [ She'll correct him first, then figure out how to reply—
but, no, she said she'd be honest, right? And that does mean complete honesty. ]
...They judge people's souls. Depending on their memories—which the arbiters, or judges if you want something easier to say, get—and how they act during the course of whatever game they get on the roulette, they either go to heaven or to hell.
[ ... ]
It's really whether or not they'll get reincarnated and get to live another life, or if they'll be sent to the void, where they... won't.

[It's not a very happy job, but his tension all but melts, really; all this time, he was worried that Chiyuki was just disguising being some kind of super messed up person, but... She's not.]
Sorry I doubted you so much. I understand why you wouldn't want to just tell that to people.
[With the different worlds, it doesn't really occur to Silver that they could all be dead or something like that.]
Should I keep this to myself? I share a lot with Gold, but...

[ She's not gonna count it against him, essentially. ]
And don't worry—it's hard to explain the bar without throwing the "yeah, we only deal with the dead" bit out there. It sounds pretty crazy without it though, huh?

[Which is why he's been so suspicious of her this entire time. A part of him wonders if she's lying, but... That seems like a pretty weird lie to come up with, so-]
I've got one last question for you. You don't have to answer it, and I'm not gonna ask you anything else.
no subject
[ What's one more question! ]
no subject
Are you gonna be okay?
no subject
She'll let him do that, glancing down at it. ]
As long as I don't get hit too hard, yeah.

[God damn, Silver's finally asking her something out of concern instead of suspicion. Look at that.]

It's easier to show him. She won't pull her hand away, she'll just carefully unwrap some of the bandages closer to her elbow and show him her... skin; it's cracking like old, dried paint, and it looks more like it's been picked at than just naturally flaking off.
She has a habit of doing it when she's thinking about a few things, is all. ] ...It's not painful, it's just what happens when guests stay at the bar too long, I'm pretty sure. The dead are meant to move on, wherever they might be going.

[So why...?]

I'm sorry for doubting you so much.
[He said he wouldn't ask any more questions.]

It's fine. We get a lot of people like you—they don't have any reason to trust us when we imply their life's on the line, and they don't even know they're already dead—so I'm used to it.
[ ... ]
You're not supposed to know if you're dead or not, by the way; that's something that comes out with your memories, usually. I wasn't sure if this was some sort of elaborate judgement game or if it was something else, which is why I held off on mentioning it in the first place. We don't have anything like that shadow... thing though, so I'm gonna say it's not.
