First.

The past five days have come and gone, though exactly how easily they've done so is debatable; some have been trying to press onward in their optimism and faith that things will get better, while some seem convinced that things will only go downhill from here. However people have chosen to see it, though, clearly this week hasn't been all bad – after all, attempts at encouraging unity among the group seem to have been at least reasonably successful.

...Seem to have been.

Friday dawns like the rest of the week before it – the clock chimes the hour at seven, the doors to the kitchen and the mail room unlock, and the building is quiet. It would seem that maybe the night passed reasonably quietly – were it not for the large red smears on the walls and floor of the southeastern side of the dormitory.

It looks like somebody decided to be a damn overachiever and took some initiative of their own.

[Hanyuu remains standing by the chair's side. She's a little slow in answering, as she's recalling Adelina's bow, when the two had first met. Formal, proper girl, who did nothing to deserve...]

Yes. So many of us have important things we were pulled away from, and...someone decided theirs was more important than her life.

I was afraid of this. Why would someone feel the need to make such a choice? Why are we in a situation where such a choice must be made?

[She grips her cup a bit harder as she mulls over this. Choices are something that she struggles with. Making them is harder and wondering if she made the correct choice is even more difficult.]

I...cannot find an answer to the second. Our host doesn't deem it necessary that we know. [Her eyes narrow.]

But...for the first... It's hard to find justification for acts like these. There is no justification. In their mind...maybe they had no other. No choice to make, but this one. We won't know for sure, until we find them, and get them to confess their sins.

[And when they do, Hanyuu will listen. No matter how much she liked Adelina, it's what she does. It's only...fair.]

We will find them. We have to, for Adelina.

[While she's still emotional, there's definitely determination within her as she takes a deep breath and begins to sip her tea.]

It's my duty. I couldn't leave someone in distress, especially not someone so young.
