i'll wait, so show me why you're strong
[ Generally, people need time to cope and gather themselves after a... thing... like that. Unfortunately, that's not how Vanille sees it. Her thing is avoid, and once she gets out of that hellhole that's the courtroom, she makes her way to the supplies closet, then to the library. She spends some time setting up things, pushing things aside to make room. Once she's finished, and she's met up with the Party Brigade, she makes enough invitations for everyone. She slips them under everyone's doors, or hands them out if she sees someone walking around.

Inside the library, there are candles set up to provide some soft, comforting lighting. There are pots of tea, courtesy of Mercy, pancakes made by Viktor, and books (picked out by Estelle, of course) laid out on the surrounding tables. The others have provided their own touches, and Vanille's even managed to make something: sugar cookies, which are actually very good. They're flavored lightly with all sorts of flavors--not all in the same cookie, okay--and each plate is marked with whatever flavor she's put in them.
After a successful trial, it's healthy to indulge, right? Let's mingle. ]

Then, she'll eventually scoot her way to his end of the table.]
Hey, Sportacus.

I think she would have, too. We couldn't have done better than we did.
[She just won't mention how they sentenced Kyrie to death(?). Or...assimilation by blob.]
Are you doing okay, though? I really didn't think we'd be thrown into a trial, of all things.

[pauses. tap tap tap.]
I have a little problem. [he says, underplaying so heavily we are literally subterranean right now.]
no subject
Do you want to talk about it?

Usually... [he shows her what he's been fiddling around with: it's a quarter of the case that's usually on his chest. he taps the inside part of it.] There is usually something here, a crystal. It tells me when people are in trouble, so I can save them. I thought... [that nobody was in trouble.] But, it's gone. Not just gone, but taken.
So, there is a very good chance that, on top of everything else, the Wordsmith has access to something very powerful. And that is my fault. [HE SEEMS WEIRDLY ANGRY WITH HIMSELF OVER ALL THIS???]
no subject
...not. NOT. LITERALLY, but.]
...oh, Sportacus.
[Judy's ears couldn't possibly be any more droopy right now, and for a moment she sort of fights with herself to think of what to say.]
I don't know how he got your crystal away from you, especially if it's that important...but this isn't your fault.
[Look at that...she's even just believing his story right out the gate. And why wouldn't she? If he says he has a magic crystal that tells him when people are in trouble, then by god he has one.]
Do you think he might be using it?
no subject
I don't want anyone to worry. [never mind how he himself is majorly fucked up by this right.]
no subject
And if I find it, I will bring it straight back to you, no questions asked.
[She goes quiet for a moment after saying that, looking up at Sportacus out of the corner of her eye.]
Thank you for telling me, though. It does sound very important.
no subject
[because he will. with his bare hands.]
no subject
No, I don't think so, but...I wouldn't advise it. It might get you into a lot of trouble.

Now that we know what punishment means to him...

Good. No more people getting hurt around here, right?

[this will end poorly]

Just make sure you get some sleep. We don't need you getting sick, right?
